Friendly supporters

Over the weekend I (and a few hundred other shoppers) took advantage of the BIG 1-day sale at Stein Mart. While this event attracted quite a crowd, it also brought on long lines and a few angry obnoxious shoppers. I believe waiting in the voting line earlier this week prepared me for this experience especially since the lady in front of me had well over 50 items to purchase. Then I heard the magic words that ever shopper secretly desires to hear, "Next in line please, I am now open."

My cashier greeted my with a smile and a HUGE Obama pin. I felt that was an open pass to discuss our common issues and to revel in the possibilities for the next 4 years. For the next few minutes the crowd behind me disappeared and I noticed that she added an extra discount to my purchase. She charged me the lowest price for my 3 shirts and left me wondering what would have happened if she wore a McCain button.
